"Small world revisited" is a project, inspired by Stanley Milgram's classical social networks' experiment, known as "Small world phenomenon" or "Six degrees of separation".
Since in 1960s there was not internet, Milgram conducted his experiment through the offline networks. In this time social scholars did not think that in less than three decades there might be other way for exploration of the social bonds between people. But today it is different. The vast majority of people use the Internet to communicate quickly and easily, and locations or distances do not matter. Now, in 2012, we try to explore the online social networks and how they connect people.
The experiment is realized as a project of the Open School of Psychology, division of The Garden Association.
